HOW TO SAY NO
Sometimes we may need to say no to our friends if they are doing something that you think is wrong. That may be harder than it seems to say "No" to a friend. If you ever need to say no...
First, tell your friend what you think is wrong. Explain why you think that. Could someone get hurt, get in trouble, or make you feel bad if you did it? Help your friend do something else. Make a suggestion to go to the park, or play a game.
Now share with us a story about how Rosie Roundhouse deals with a friend that asks her to do something wrong. You can share a story, or a picture, or even a comic. Please submit to Mrs. Scott in the dojang.
Join Rosie Roundhouse in her corner dedicated to kids martial arts education, games, and activities. Keep a look out on our site for Rosie. Once every testing cycle, Rosie will jump to a new page and location for a digital game of hide and seek. Be the first to find her, message us where she was hiding, and we will give you a prize at promotion night.
Thoughts of a Martial Artist
A thought from Master D'Argenio...
Applying Tae Kwon Do principles at the core of our Tae Kwon Do training is our commitment to developing our character by adhering to the tenets of Tae Kwon Do.
We develop our character side by side with the development of our physical skills in the dojang.
We practice the physical skills of Tae Kwon Do in the dojang, and use them outside only if absolutely necessary. The opposite is true of our character ideas. We must practice those diligently outside the dojang. This must be done in the company of our family, friends, classmates, work associates, and those we encounter in our community on a daily basis. By doing so, we can begin to accomplish the mission of a Tae Kwon Do.
Black Belt Club
Black Belt Club is our program to help our youth (Blue belt & up) become actively involved in their community, and to develop their skills in leadership.
Meetings will be held once a week on Fridays before family class.
Our Staff will keep track of Community Hours put forth by our students, that can be later used for resumes and job applications.
Character Stripe Program: Due Date: 1/10/18
Every Month our youth students will be required to hand in their packets to earn a stripe on their belt. All youth students are required to have three stripes on their belt prior to the upcoming test to be eligible for testing. Please print copies of the packet here.
All Events in our school are published to our website. Follow us on Facebook to get notifications of upcoming closings, or in school events. Our school participates in annual tournaments, quarterly belt testings, community outreach projects, in dojang special events, and more... Stay tuned to see the future happenings.
Fun Fact: Taekwondo means the way of the hand and foot. Tae meaning to kick or jump; Kwon, means fist or hand; and Do, which means "the way".
